Infinitely curious, coffee loving, Brooklyn native with Italian roots. Had first business cards at six and first product on shelves at 13. Did business school, a stint in finance, dealt with loss, found herself, found her passion, more loss, learned the meaning of post traumatic growth, started a coffee company (and largely by accident, also started an education company), gave two TEDx talks (#1, #2), started speaking in the US and abroad... still wondering where that shy 9 year old went. Currently, head-over-heels about: the power of coffee as a ritual, the universal potential it has as an agent of change, facilitating “Brave Conversations Over Coffee“ around the table amongst diverse groups, within companies and in schools with the belief that sustainable change will happen when we genuinely want the person sitting across the table from us to be well. Famous for: asking hard questions, Disney-character-like facial expressions, and the coffee in her purse.
COFFEE + CONFIDENCE
Caffè Unimatic is a woman-owned coffee company born of a family legacy, a little girl’s dream and the surprise of a lifetime [as seen in the heart-warming Netflix documentary, “Coffee For All”]. They are the proud purveyors of the last original drip-percolator coffee pots in the world, called “The Unimatic.” Conceived in Brooklyn and made in Italy in the 1960s, these pots reinvented the perking process. Together with Caffè Unimatic’s line of sustainable, impeccably roasted coffee blends, they create a remarkably smooth and rich cup of coffee and are keeping families on six continents lingering at the table together, over coffee. Determined to make an impact on the next generation, they launched “Unimatic University,” an Ambassdor program that teaches college students how to find and use their voice, read people, take actions in line with their values, and build confidence through brain science, communication and leadership skills, while spreading the company’s coffee and legacy far and wide.
Speaking about coffee and what gave her the confidence to start something in the wake of loss also led Elisabeth to Co-Found Legacy Out Loud, an education company that’s designed a methodology to instill resilience, unshakable confidence, and entreprenurial spirit in high school and college aged women leaders through transformative immersion retreats.
