Ciao Coffee Lovers,
We obviously talk about Dad a great deal, but that’s not to diminish how crazy we are about Mom! With Mother’s Day right around the corner, we hope you’ve planned something to absolutely spoil yours – ahem, maybe with a really special coffee pot… no idea where you’d find one of those but really, what every Mom wants is just an excuse to spend time with you…
Our family Unimatic (#001), was what kept my Mom, Dad and I sitting around the table each morning. She (#001) was the silent centerpiece, quietly observing all that transpired until the last drop of coffee was gone. She’s what inspired and fueled those conversations that I now treasure more than anything. I didn’t know what kind of magic was happening all those mornings at the breakfast table, but they taught me everything. They made me, me. Being able to give the gift of shared time together and the excuse to slow down and linger just a little bit longer with the people you love is the greatest gift of all… So this Mother’s Day, however you’re able, give that.
Also of note: the other day (over a pot of Brunetta, obviously) Mom told us that she never knew she could be this proud and we realized that we hadn’t shared an update with you in quite a while, so below are some of the recent things that made our dear Mom smile!
Always,
Elisabeth

Preserving a legacy (while creating one)
Lately I find myself stumbling upon ways to give others the gifts that Dad instilled in me. This journey is unfolding in the most amazing way and something tells me that the best is yet to come!
• Andiamo! Master Your Mission…
Master Your Mission is designed to reinvent the way you interact with the world. The program is a 5 day intensive this July, on the coastal shores of Tuscany. When my partner, a renown digital media strategist, asked me to bring my passion and talent for storytelling and helping people craft their legacies to this project, how in the world could I say no?! I can almost see Dad nodding in agreement… If this resonates with you or someone you love, there are a few spots left (and the early bird rate is extended until May 15th for our Caffè Unimatic family).
• Our first Keynote Address
In February, I had the opportunity to take part in ISU’s Business Week. Seeing my name in the program (and local paper) next to the words “Keynote Address” made Mom shake her head and say something like “you’re definitely your Father’s daughter.” At first not knowing what I’d be able to talk about for an hour, I resolved to just get on stage and tell a story; a somewhat random, very personal, certainly passion filled and seemingly magical story of progress and resilience. The thank you notes that poured in were some of the most fulfilling moments of this journey so far.
• Retail success at The Soho Holiday Collective
For the first time anywhere, you could smell the aroma of brunetta brewing and purchase an original Unimatic onsite. We got to share our story with our neighbors and new friends in Soho and both our pot and coffee were featured by TONS of “best of” lists!
• We were on TV… THREE times!
The Unimatic was first seen on NBC when Lilliana Vasquez visited us at the pop-up shop. She took a particular liking to our vintage pot and awesome story and from what we heard, the NYC Live spot was on loop in taxis and on airplanes during the holiday season… How cool is THAT?!
Our second on screen appearance was just a couple weeks ago when we made coffee for Frank Celenza, fabulous Italian chef and star of Frankie Cooks!
We’re on around 6:38 / 26:46
Season 3: Episode 5 – Mostly Poultry
The third will be airing soon, on the Dr. Oz Show! We can’t wait to see our little pot in the coffee vs. tea face-off! Follow us to find out when it airs!
