For us, this day is even more meaningful than you’d think. You see, I started pouring my heart into this company during a time when I really needed purpose and a daily reminder of what’s possible…
We lost Dad on September 30, 2010 - I know that feels like quite a long time ago at this point, but to be honest, it still feels like yesterday. Not even a year later, I’d discovered our stash of Unimatics and found myself realizing that if I was going to be in the coffee world, I’d just been gifted with a new “holiday.” Can you see the magic in the timing?
Dad’s Memorial Day is September 30, but he’d been looking down from above and delivered us with National Coffee Day on September 29 each year to be sure that before we had to endure the hardest day, we had a reason to gather people around the table and celebrate his legacy, over coffee with our community✨. And now, we have #unimaticfam all over the world gathering around their Unimatics, celebrating with us!
To me, coffee is a symbol of connection - to others, to ourselves, to the days of our lives and to the world we serve. It’s what made our family linger at the breakfast table together slowing down, asking questions, dreaming, telling stories. It kept us at the table, connected to each other no matter what else was going on in our lives.
My hope today, and every day you perk your Unimatic coffee is that you’re reminded that a) uni-magic is all around, if you’re open to seeing it and b) the most special moments tend to be the every day ones - and we have the power to slow down and create space for them, over coffee, whenever we choose.
I choose today. And tomorrow. How about you? ☕️💋
